Unexpected Reunions

Last session, the party finally met up with Ami Maloa, the master of Makx. However, they ddidn't want to immediately start on the Ark. Instead, they rested in a section of the city called the Sanguine Terrace. There, the party found out from Lord Night, that there was a group of merchants down there called the Deitrichs. Our very own Kaine Deitrich, was curious.

The party made their way to a manor at the edge of town but when trying to enter it, they were attacked by some skeletons guarding the manor. The party manages to catch the attention of the people inside the manor and Lucas, someone from Kitiara's old mercenary group, came out to chase the party out. However, after mentioning that Kaine is a Deitrich, Lucas called off the undead and lets the party in.

There, the party met Karlotta and Fritz Deitrich. They were very demeaning to Kaine and after confirming Kaine's identity and his sister's location, Karlotta was ready to eliminate the party there and then. However, J-5 mentioned that the party is a guest of Ami Maloa which made them change their tune. Fritz even said that Kaine could be inducted into the family business. However, when Fritz mentioned that they had Kaine's mother killed, Kaine slaps him across the face.

Angered, Fritz takes Kaine by the neck and Kaine falls limp, dead. They were kicked out from the manor and the party stuggled to bring back Kaine. The first revivify failed and the party had to perform a reincarnation ritual. Ignis, Kaine and Lam contributed to the ritual and Kaine returned to the land of the living, as a Protector Aasimar.
