A long time ago, the world was thrown into the brink of war. Tensions rose as one side fought for independence while the other fought for unification. The war waged on until one day, a monster appeared out of nowhere and wreaked havoc in the world. They call it the Beast from Far Beyond.

The world’s top heroes died in the first few weeks. Then, the smaller villages get overwhelmed as every single living thing is turned into Fallen, a monstrous mockery of life. At the end, even large cities began to fall. All hope seems lost.

And then, out of nowhere, Twelve heroes appeared out of nowhere and inspired hope for the people of home. These heroes, now called the Twelve, inspired the armies of Home to fight backa against the Beast’s forces. Darius, Manada, Arfair, Herr Meselk, D-12, Lief, NAkran, Zasch, Yuvi, Soroka, Wai’Naga, and Esliri work together and pushed their enemies back until they were only confined to Olhom.

It was then the Twelve casted an enchantment that would seal the Fallen to Olhom and defeat the Beast from Far Beyond once and for all.

After the war, the Twelve went their separate ways helping their people grow and foster unity between their people. However, at the back of their minds, they always fear the Beast’s return or perhaps something even worse.

One day, they got together and agreed to share their gifts with the world. The Twelve sacrificed their powers and shared it with the world in the form of classes; Barbarian from Arfair, Bard from Herr Meselk, Cleric form D-12, Druid from Lief, Fighter from Darius, Monk from Nakran, Paladin from Zasch, Ranger from Yuvi, Rogue from Soroka, Sorcerer from Wa’iNaga, Warlock from Esliri and Wizard from Manada.

With classes no one needs to be born special. With classes, anyone can work to become someone that can protect others.

Then, long after their disappearance, rumours started to appear talking about caches of wealth, magic and power left behind by the Twelve. These caches or Arks aren’t exactly known but rumour has it that these small golden objects called shards are the key to finding them. And so, the age of Seekers have begun. People from all over the world dedicated their time to find these Arks but to no avail. As years passed, the mystery of the Arks joined the Twelve in the realm of myths and legends.

That is, until today…

DM's Note

Ark of the Twelve is my very first “successful” long campaign. I have made a lot of mistakes while running this campaign, and I’m sure I will make many more as we approach the end. However, I believe I have beame a better Dungeon Master thanks to it. I owe it all to my players for making it a memorable one. As I write this, we are approaching the finale. So, let’s end it with a BANG!
