Piscyan
Races • DnD 5e
Appearance
The psicyans are humanoid creatures with the head of a lion fish. They have spines that grow along their back and limbs that they use to communicate in long distances. Their bodies are usually brown with color stripes that is unique to each individual.
Culture
The piscyans are a culture that revolve around sounds. While spoken voice doesn’t travel well in water, piscyan use melodic vibrations through their spines to communicate. When outsiders enter a piscyan city, they are greeted with a choir of music around town.
History
The piscyans was apparently a very technologically advanced race that exploiteed audiotory vibrations to create powerful magics and interesting effects. However, like most technology, they were abused and forced to leave the depths of the ocean and come into contact with the surface people. As time goes by, the technology is now forgotten but the songs are still passed down through generations.
Location
The piscyans used to live deep underwater where the sunlight barely reaches. However, due to a calamity that almost killed off their entire race, they had to evacuate to the surface and now try to recall their glory days in the floating towns.
