Fated Inspiration

When travelling around Home, you will inevitablly be participating in a myriad of wonderful moments. Sometimes, when all hope is lost and your life flashes before you, you recall these moments and occasionally empower you to go beyond what you can do.

How to use a Fated Inspiration

In your darkest moments, you need to describe what memory you pull from all your exprience to give you an advantage in a situation. If the inpiration is strong enough, you perform

  • "I almost missed"

When making attack roll, ability check or saving throw, you can use the Fated Inspiration to roll again or add +5 bonus to the roll. You must use this before you know the result.

  • "What a coincidence"
At any point in the story, you can add detail to what is going on in the scene. Use a Fated Inspiration, to create an advantage for your character in the scene. For example...

    • I did went shopping last session, would it make sense that I would have bought a rope if we're going to a mountain?
    • I was a hunter back at home, woud it make sense that i would have worked with this trader in the past and worked together?
    • We were supposed to meet with Aaron at 12 right? Would it make sense that he come looking for us?

  • "Beyond my Limit"
Use a Fated Inspiration to gain one exhaustion point but also recover 1 ability that recovers during a short rest.

  • "Twisting the Knife"
When you roll a 19 on an attack, you can turn it into a critical hit by spending a Fated Inspiration.

  • "I control my own fate"
The above is not an exhaustive list. Feel free to suggest new ways to use Fated Inspiration.

Remember that the GM as the right to veto your suggestion or ask the player to revise them, especially if the rest of the group isn't buying into the story.

What cannot be affected by Fated Inspiration?

Whenever a person rolls a natural 1, the roll may not be altered using Fated Inspiration. They may still succeed but the roll may not be altered

How do I gain Fated Inspiration?

Fate points are rewarded for the following at the GM's discretion:
  • Playing out your flaws that brings the party into interesting situations.
  • Creating an awesome roleplay moment
  • Epic description of your actions.
  • Feel free to mention if you should get an inspiration but if the GM says no, the decision is final.

This sounds too good to be true...

Yes, it is... Some of your opposition will have Fated Inspirations as well. This means some enemies will be much harder to kill than the others.

In addition, you can have a number of Fated Inspiration up to a number equal to double to number of players.
