A person or thing regarded as a perfect example of a particular quality.

Perhaps it was hubris. Or maybe hopeful dream to its people. Whatever the reason, that is what they decided to call the city that became the City of Heroes: Paragon. It was known all across the land as the birthplace of heroes that will leave a mark in history. The leaders of the city were heroes themselves, each with storied lives that could fill an odyssey and they strove to foster a new generation of heroes.

But the path to hell is paved with good intentions. While most strove to be the best of heroes, many also fell to became the worst of villians. Paragon became the center of many conflicts that ravaged the city. However, Paragon bounced back each time, wearing the scars of the conflict like a badge of honor.

But one day, it all changed...

Witnesses say it was like any other night. The city was as busy as it always has been. But then a sudden quiet fell over the city. The only thing that can be heard is a long, drawn out, sourceless whistling noise. And then, Paragon dissappeared right in front of their eyes, leaving only a crater where the city used to be.

The city was home to the best and the brightest. But also to the young and hopeful. Many mourned the loss of the city and gathered there every year to remember the fallen. On Paragon day, people gather at the large crater where Paragon used to be to remember those that was lost.
